I started collecting Mythical creatures and mutants because I love sword & sorcery and many of the figures do not fit in the correct time frame to add to my medevil knights battle. So I created a second diarama, one that allows me the freedom of putting different figures together. A good wizard that has brought back heroes through out time, and a evil wizard that has brought mutants & the greek creatures. After getting the Safari Hydra I was so impressed with the detail and beautiful paint job I started getting other dragons. Schliech & Papo put out great knights & pirates & other figures & Safari allso puts out some top quality human figures but it is with there dragons that they leave the compatition in the dust!!! I have never been disappointed with a Safari dragon purchase and Safari offers a large selection to choose from. For those of you out there that love dragons look to Safari to meet your needs there are no juvinile comic portrail of dragons here, here there be DRAGONS… fierce, aggressive dragons that are so well sculpted and painted that I am sure they will only increase in value. These figurines are much more than just toys they are individualy painted makeing each one unique and collectable.

I was worried about the quality of the plastic when I bought this dragon. I’ve very durable and tough. Being plastic you really get the look of a sea dragon, the webbing between the feet, the spikes along the back, and the tail are all see-through plastic that give it an awesome feature. The reason this is not a 5 star is that it isn’t hand painted. The quality control on the product could have been better. The tan on the stomach is not very thick so you can see the blue/green through it. There are a few parts where the tan paint runs into the side of the dragon and also onto his tail. I paint miniature models so this is very noticeable for me. Thankfully, it’s under the dragon so unless you’re looking for it, you won’t see it. The spikes that line the dragons side are a little sloppy too, but not as bad as the underside of a dragon. If this dragon was given as a toy to a child, it would fair greatly, this would be really hard to break and can stand being the “evil” dragon.

Purchased for use with D&D. Size is pretty much perfect, and I just don’t care that it has no base for tabletop grid maps, as I feel like a dragon is of such a size that we just fudge the numbers (on the dragon’s side). I like Safari’s dragons because they can each be multiple things, such as dinosaur variants (change name and a few stats and this is a mosasaurus), Chinese dragon, water monster, wyrm, etc. With this specific piece, I bought a wrecked ship set at a thrift store designed for aquariums, but matches the scale of D&D minis. The cavern under the great lake? You don’t want to go down there. Safari also has Sea Dragon in miniature, which I have, like a hatchling size, and water giant and medusa/mermaid looking pieces. Each one makes for quite the sea-based adventure.I’d also like to add that the price may seem high, but the paint and plastic quality are unbeatable. Not even Schleich can compare to some of the detail these pieces; I would argue Schleich’s only superiority is that some of their dragons have less conventional details and colors, which looks cool, but not enough to justify Schleich’s higher prices. The paint on Safari is meticulous and clever, incorporated well into wing and fin areas that may be transparent plastic, and the great sign of attention to detail was dead-on every time — namely, the eyes aren’t all F’d up. On any mini or toy, the rest can be perfect and freakishly placed eyes just ruin it. Safari doesn’t do that.

Submitting review based on using this miniature for table top RPG games such as D&D and Pathfinder. This is first a plastic toy type model. It’s nice for a toy, but since it’s plastic the sculpt could be better. It is still better quality and weight than most budget 3d printers would put out.Size wise as seen in my pictures it is Gargantuan base (4″) making it ancient white dragon under DnD rules but too big for Pathfinder (huge 3″) but by all means still usable if scaling up. My base picture is left to right, front to back: small (1/2″), medium(1″), large(2″), huge(3″), gargantuan (4″) scales.Overall good purchase for mini collection as no need to paint and should be durable for any travel.

The toy itself was bigger than i expected, and had transparent webbing features that i hadn’t realized would be there looking at the photos. One of his horns was bent at an odd angle and i can’t get it to stand right, but that’s a pretty complaint. The toy isn’t articulated but the pose is decent enough for play or display. The details surpassed my expectations.I purchased one for a pirate game in D&D for ship-to-monster combat, and it’s perfect for the task. A bit over-scaled but not to a point where it’s unusable, more like a late-game enemy. It’s worth noting that im using the wizkids pirates of the cursed seas miniature ships with it, so that accounts for most of my scaling problems. If your buying this for a young kid however, i couldn’t recommend it enough! The toy is made of sturdy plastic that could deal with “energetic” battles with other figures, and it’s small enough to easily go on trips with. The transparent features are a fun addition and are sure to excite the imaginations of young kids.

it does not glow in the dark other than that it was as advertised.

My nearly 8 yo grandson is very much into dragons, so I am sure he’ll love this one. It’s very detailed, sturdy and just fascinating, even if it didn’t have the glow-in-the-dark feature. I recommend any of the Safari Ltd. figures for collecting or for play!

This was a very good gift for my husband who collects Dragon figurines. I had gotten a glass globe to put it into and he fell in love with the whole thing. The one I purchased it does not glow as much as I expected it to but it’s not bad.
