Cookie Monster says a few phrases when you squeeze his belly or touch the back of his throat. His entire body encases the hard speaker and mechanisms so it isn’t soft and cuddly. His arm is a little short with the cookie so it’s hard for little people to get the cookie far enough in his mouth to make him make noises. Overall it’s cute and I’d buy it again but I wish he said more or did more that would require more interaction with a child such as asking for a cookie instead of just saying nom nom. My daughter gets bored with him pretty quickly and since he is hard, she doesn’t really use him as a snuggle toy either.

Bought this about a month ago for my kiddo’s birthday, and he loves it! He took a little while to warm up to it, though – at first he was scared of the talking and vibrating so he would say “no talk, no talk” and just carry him around. But now he keeps Cookie everywhere with him. Other reviews are true – it’s challenging to shove the cookie to the back of his throat to get him to talk. My son also insists on taking him to bed, which I’m not a fan of, but the hard eyes and hard-box-speaker tummy doesn’t seem to bother him when snuggling. The reason I’m giving 4 stars is because of the material used for his fur, and the velcro in the back — it’s only been a month, and I’m starting to pick off pieces of blue fuzz. We keep Cookie in the house, and he’s not thrown or piled up with anything, so it kind of stinks that mild to moderate play for only a couple of weeks is already resulting in him starting to fall apart. The velcro is not a very wide strip, so it can open fairly easily, especially when my kiddo is picky about turning his voice on and off and I have to get in to the back side a little bit more. The volume of his voice is not very loud, though, so that’s a plus!

This reminds me of the Tickle Me Elmo I had growing up. The head is firm, but the only hard part are the eyes. The legs and arms are stuffed all the way through and limp. The body, where the battery goes, is hard but stuffed enough to avoid unwanted boo-boos (my son has a tendency to fall head-first onto his toys). There is a button/sensor in the belly and in the back of throat. The one in the mouth, despite what the images imply, cannot be reached by the permanently affixed cookie. My son activates it when he picks him up by the mouth. He LOVES when Cookie Monster vibrates and says โMe so ticklish.โ This appears to happen every 3rd time. Bottom line, this is going to be a favorite and we couldnโt be happier.

Cute product, however was not giftable in the state I received it. It was falling out of the box, unsecured. Since it was a gift for my toddler that wonโt know the packaging difference I just removed the packaging ( what little was attached) and placed in a gift bag.Otherwise great product. Works as described and is really cute and kinda cuddly.I just expect products I purchase to be in the same packaging that I would expect from a walk in store. (secured and not looking like a return that got thrown back in the box)

Who doesn’t like Cookie Monster am I right? This toy is fun and my daughter likes it. Having said that there are some things that bother me.1. This thing is hard! Like could be used as a weapon hard. Only the hands and feet are soft the rest feels like hard plastic under a thin layer of fur.2. The cookie doesn’t reach the mouth! The whole point of this thing is to feed Cookie Monster with the cookie he has sown into is hand, but the cookie will barely make it into the mouth. Then you have to jam the cookie into the back of the throat to hit the hidden button. You child will not be able to do this. My kid is almost 3 and has yet to successfuly feed Cookie Monster the cookie. She knows where the button is and just pushes it to make the noise. This means your kids will not be feeding Cookie Monster but instead look like they are trying to make Cookie Monster vomit by sticking fingers down his throat.fun toy but sort of missed the mark.Don’t hit or throw this thing could take a window out or knock someone out.
