I hosted an under the sea/shark party for my 2 year old. I bought two of these to use as party decor/ favors. In my photos you can see I made them party hats. You really do get quite a lot in each bucket. It includes loads of plant life as well to make scenes. Itβs a great value but I wish it included the names of the marine life. Although I used this as party decor, my son thinks these sets are so fun, it might be one of his favorite βgiftsβ from his birthday!

I got my son the Terra Jungle World 60pc set and it was amazing. Aside from a Lion and a Lioness, there were no repeats in animal species and all the paint jobs were top notch, so I knew I wanted the Marine World and Prehistoric World 60pc sets next.I chose the Marine World one first and, well… it’s a good selection of toys, but when you compare it to Jungle World, it kinda blows. To begin with, at least 50% of the 60pcs are these green and red coral pieces. Then, the actual sea creatures are not as solid or even constructed as well- some are 2 pieces spliced together down the midway point.Paint job varies from mediocre to pretty poor , especially on the dolphins and sharks, which brings me around to the biggest issue: The lack of diversity (I know, I’m sick of that term as well, but here it applies). It’s not like the oceans are lacking in variety, yet for some reason this set includes 11 sharks, 3 pairs of the same breeds, 3 whales, 2 of the same breed, and 3 Orcas with only size being the variable. Beyond that, you get 1 Manta, 1 Octopus, 1 sea turtle, 1 eel, 1 Lobster, 1 Sea Lion, 1 Seal, 1 Dolphin and 1 Porpoise, then a 5 pieces of sea plants/colorful coral. So, you see my point. Jungle World set the bar high. Hopefully Marine World sets a low point and Prehistoric World will either exceed expectations or land somewhere between. I don’t hate Marine World. It’s better than most sets out there, but I expected more. Hope this helps you make a decision.

My son spends his days building beaches and oceans all over my house and this set of toys has helped him expand his oceans into epic proportions. Literally. We use these toys in playdoh, kenetic sand, and even the slimy sand. Theyβve been in his sandbox, in the bathtub, and even to the real beach. These figures are super durable, easy to clean, and the bucket makes picking them up and storing them super easy for my 3yr old to do on his own (for which this mom is eternally grateful).Iβve always loved the Battat brand for their excellent toys and prices that are doable.

I’ve purchased this twice, because our 4-year-old son is OBSESSED with sea creatures, so he takes these to playgrounds and inevitably loses them. I just wish that we could get ONLY the sea creatures and not the little plastic rocks and seaweed and stuff like that — those seem pretty unnecessary, and I end up tossing them away as I find them scattered all over our house.
