2013 This year I bought two of my special needs 22 and 26 year old nephew’s a shelf elf OH MY they were so happy Santa sent them their very own elf!!! They named them and couldnt wait to see were the elf would be the next day LOL this thing is so much fun and brings so much joy to that special child Sent from santa to him or her! They are a little sad when he returns to the north pole but the small gift from their new pal and knowing the elf will be back, they cant wait for next year LOL. YOU CANT GO WRONG BUYING THIS ELF!!!The Elf on the shelf,2012 BEST MONEY YOU WILL EVER SPEND!I bought this for my grandson had it shipped to his house he thought santa sent it and it had magic, He named him and every night his mom and dad moved it around and sometimes left notes about the north pole. It was so much fun he would tell me everything his new elf did and how sometimes he found the elf in the tree, on speakers so high no one could reach or how the elf got into the flour and making flour angels like you do in the snow best money I ever spent. OH almost fogot they cant touch their elf or the magic will go away, they show up sometime after thanksgiveing and watch over their new kid and after the kid is asleep the elf sometimes makes a trip to santa so he knows how things are with their new family. On christmas day the elf leaves a special something for his or her kid and returns back to the north pole to help santa get ready for next year, and of course he or she meaning the elf returns to their kid after thanksgiving every year.

For Christmas 2015 we decided to do Elf on a Shelf for our almost 3 year old. I knew he was going to want to touch the Elf so I quickly began searching for an alternative to go along with the non-touchable Elf, and was extremely happy to see such a thing existed. There seemed to be a few of these types where you could touch the elf but I decided on this particular one, The Elf on the Shelf Plushee Pal and I could not have been happier. He is a great size and my son loved him. He slept with him every night and held him pretty much all the time for the 20+ days we had him. We gave him a different name from the Elf on a Shelf but kept reiterating that he was a friend of the Elf on a Shelf and when the real Elf on a Shelf went back to the North Pole for the year, this touchable Elf on a Shelf had to go too. That was probably the tricky part… getting my son to part with him and not sleep with him the night of Christmas Eve. It wasn’t super easy for him to part with him but he managed, and while he asked about him Christmas morning, he hasn’t asked about him since. The material is nice, he is very soft and lovable. I know one of the questions I had before buying this if his hands were attached to his legs and they are not. However, the hands are attached to themselves and my son very quickly “broke” the attachment. I liked the hands apart anyways so this didn’t brother me at all but if you want them to stay together, I would refrain from any sort of tugging between the hands. Otherwise, love, love, love this and I know my son will be SUPER excited to see him again this December!

Let me begin by saying I was very on the fence and undecided about introducing the EOTS to my almost 3 year old this upcoming Christmas. I have mixed feelings about it. I don’t want to teach him that you only behave for the sake of getting gifts. I want to instill in him a moral compass that makes him do good because it’s the right thing to do, not because of a reward at the end or because someone is watching. Christmas is materialistic enough with Santa without bringing elves into it too. And let’s face it, whether my son is naughty or nice, he’s still getting gifts on Christmas. I also didn’t want to take on another task; I’ve seen the elaborate set-ups that people do and there’s no way after the crazy hectic long days I have that I’m doing that! Post-bedtime is MY TIME. Not to mention that once you commit, you are IN for years and years! Christmas is about giving with magical unconditional love, not giving with strings attached. I also didn’t want to have the same traditions as everyone else.So I decided to put my own twist on the EOTS. I wasn’t going to buy the $30 kit that includes the book I would never read because it talks about the elf going back and reporting to Santa. So I looked for another elf to use and found this little plush guy! Adorable! And 1/3 of the price – and not exactly like everyone else’s.On December 1st, I’m going to wrap him up in a box and pretend like the mailman brought it to my son from the North Pole. With it will be a letter from Santa saying that this is a magic elf and every night he flies back to the North Pole to get a special message from Santa. The next morning, the elf will be in a new place in the house with a special message from Santa to do a Christmas craft, watch a Christmas show, read a Christmas book, go sledding, donate a toy, visit an animal shelter, bring cookies to the police station, decorate the tree, go to Church, hang mistletoe, go see Christmas lights, go on a sleigh ride, make an ornament, etc for the 25 days of Christmas! So he’ll be a little different than the original EOTS and he’ll come with a different message, but the idea of finding him every morning and the magic of Christmas will be there. ๐

Just what we needed to replace a lost elf! He’s so soft and cuddly great gift for your little ones big and small. Definitely will purchase again as our grandson will need his own elf next year.

Bigger and better than the littlier elf on the shelf. It is easier for little kids to see and find. Great gift, cute on a wine bottle or package.
